Varmo Sensors Receives Funding from the “Start-up BW Pre-Seed” Program

by | May 25, 2025 | Allgemein, News

We are very pleased to announce that Varmo UG from Karlsruhe has received funding through the “Start-up BW Pre-Seed” program. The Ministry of Economic Affairs, Labour and Tourism, together with L-Bank, supports innovative start-ups at a very early stage of their existence. With this funding, we can further advance our development and realize our vision of providing cost-efficient heat flow sensors for industrial applications.

What is “Start-up BW Pre-Seed”?

“Start-up BW Pre-Seed” is a funding program by the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Labour and Tourism and L-Bank that supports young companies in the very early stages of their development. The program helps founders establish their innovative ideas, products, and services in the market and make them competitive. Each company can receive up to 200,000 euros in funding, 80% of which is covered by the state, while a co-investor provides the remaining 20%.

Our Vision at Varmo sensors

At Varmo sensors, we develop heat flow sensors using screen printing that can be produced cost-efficiently. These sensors are used for applications such as monitoring car batteries or measuring heat transfer in various industrial processes. The cost-effective production allows us to make this technology accessible to a wide market, thereby contributing to increased efficiency in industry.

Outlook

With the support of “Start-up BW Pre-Seed,” we can further develop our technology and implement initial industrial applications. We look forward to the next steps and are excited to bring our innovations into practical use.
